April 18, 2025 – BAIC Philippines has officially opened its first full-service dealership in Cebu, establishing a permanent sales and service hub for the Visayas region. The new facility, operated by Pacific Autoworld Inc. under the Borromeo Group, is located at the corner of Gov. M. Cuenco Avenue and J. Panis Street in Kasambagan, Cebu City.

The showroom displays BAIC’s full lineup of new energy vehicles (NEVs), including both hybrid and full-electric models. Customers can inspect the vehicles, schedule test drives, and discuss financing options on-site. A dedicated service center with five work bays supports routine maintenance and repairs specific to hybrid and electric powertrains, reducing the need for owners to travel outside Cebu for aftersales care.

Five models are currently available: the B30e Dune 4x2, B30e Dune 4x4, B40e Trailmaster rEV, B60e Beaumont Hybrid, and B60e Beaumont rEV. These electrified sport utility vehicles are designed to handle both daily commuting and longer trips across the province, such as routes to Moalboal, Oslob, and Osmeña Peak. BAIC’s strategy targets Cebu motorists who frequently split time between urban roads and rural destinations, where fuel costs and access to maintenance are key considerations.

Cherry May de los Santos, marketing director of BAIC Philippines, thanked Pacific Autoworld for taking on the brand in Cebu. She stated that BAIC plans to introduce additional NEV SUVs in the Philippines over the next year as more families consider electrified options. Cebu’s role as a business and logistics hub for the Visayas gives the brand access to families and business owners who regularly travel beyond the city limits.

The dealership also connects to the UAAGI Auto Group service network, providing backup support for BAIC customers elsewhere in the country. This network is particularly important for buyers who are still becoming familiar with hybrid and electric vehicle maintenance. According to the Philippine Electric Vehicle Association (PEVA), the country’s EV market grew by 25% in 2024, with Cebu accounting for a significant share of regional sales. Industry analysts note that localized service centers are a critical factor in converting hesitant buyers.

By establishing a physical presence in Cebu, BAIC offers a key advantage over online-only research: prospective buyers can compare models in person, while owners can return to the same location for scheduled maintenance. The company’s move aligns with the broader trend of Chinese automakers expanding their service footprints in Southeast Asia to support growing EV adoption.

The Cebu dealership is the latest step in BAIC’s Philippine expansion, following earlier openings in Luzon. With a dedicated service center, financing team, and full NEV range, BAIC positions itself as a practical choice for Cebu-based drivers seeking electrified mobility without compromising on aftersales support.
