Ather Energy is gearing up for its biggest product launch of the year: the all-new Ather Konarc electric scooter, set to debut on August 29, 2026. While the official reveal is still over a year away, a flood of leaked details has painted a clear picture of what to expect — and it’s more than just another scooter. The Konarc is built on Ather’s new EL platform, a cost-optimized architecture designed to push the Bengaluru-based EV maker into a high-volume, price-sensitive segment. Here’s everything we know so far, including six variants, multiple battery packs, and a range that could top 200 km.
According to information that surfaced ahead of the launch, Ather may offer the Konarc in two distinct series: the S Series (likely performance-focused) and the Q Series (possibly value-oriented). The rumored variant breakdown is as follows:

The actual battery capacities (in kWh) corresponding to each range figure have not been disclosed. However, based on Ather’s existing 3.7 kWh pack delivering ~105 km, a 200 km range would likely require a 7+ kWh pack — a significant jump for a mass-market scooter.
The Konarc is the first production model to ride on the EL platform, first showcased during Ather Community Day 2025. Ather describes the EL architecture as a scalable, cost-optimized chassis designed for high-volume manufacturing. The platform uses a common powertrain, electronics, and frame to support multiple future products.
Crucially, Ather has stated that the EL platform is targeted at the ₹1 lakh–₹1.25 lakh segment (approximately $1,200–$1,500 USD), where roughly half of India’s scooter sales occur. This is a segment where Ather currently has no presence — its existing 450 series and Rizta start above ₹1.5 lakh. By entering this price band, Ather aims to compete directly with mass-market players like Ola Electric, TVS, and Bajaj.
Another practical addition is the rumored integrated 450W onboard charger. Instead of carrying a bulky portable charger, owners would plug the scooter directly into a standard wall socket using a built-in cable. An optional second 450W charger could boost total charging power to 900W, enabling a 0-80% charge in about two hours, according to leaked specs. This would be a major convenience for apartment dwellers and users without dedicated parking — a pain point Ather has acknowledged.

Ather’s Konarc is expected to have a significantly quieter electric drivetrain compared to the 450 series, which has a noticeable motor whine at low speeds. The refinement focus suggests the Konarc is designed for everyday commuting rather than sporty performance. While power and torque figures remain unknown, the emphasis on smoothness and low noise aligns with the target audience of families and urban commuters.
Ather already has the Rizta, launched as a family-oriented scooter priced from ₹1.21 lakh onwards. The Konarc will likely sit below the Rizta in price, while still offering Ather’s technology and app ecosystem. Rather than replacing the Rizta, the Konarc could become Ather’s entry-level volume model, leaving the Rizta as a roomier, more premium option for families.
