Lucid Motors has officially released the first high-resolution exterior photos of the 2027 Lucid Gravity GT-S, giving us the clearest look yet at the brand’s second production vehicle. While the standard Gravity was unveiled earlier this year, the GT-S variant comes with distinct styling cues that signal Lucid’s ambition to compete directly with high-performance electric SUVs like the Tesla Model X Plaid and the upcoming Porsche Macan EV Turbo. These images are not just a gallery — they represent a strategic design language that blends luxury, aerodynamics, and a hint of racing pedigree.
The most noticeable change on the GT-S is the front bumper. Unlike the base Gravity, the GT-S features a lower splitter with carbon-fiber accents and enlarged side air intakes. The signature “Lucid Beam” LED headlights remain, but the daytime running light signature has been updated with a more angular pattern. The hood now includes pronounced power bulges, hinting at the upgraded powertrain beneath. According to Lucid’s design chief, Derek Jenkins, the goal was to convey “controlled aggression” without sacrificing the brand’s minimalist identity.
Exclusive to the GT-S is a standard air suspension that lowers the ride height by 1.2 inches compared to the regular Gravity. The photo set reveals a 22-inch multi-spoke forged wheel design, wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport EV tires that are 10 millimeters wider at the rear. Flush door handles and a sculpted side skirt reduce drag, while the blacked-out roof pillars create a floating roof effect. Notably, the GT-S loses the roof rails found on other trims, emphasizing a lower center of gravity and a sportier silhouette.
The rear end has received the most dramatic changes. A roof-mounted spoiler and a smaller lip spoiler on the tailgate work together to manage airflow. Below the bumper, a prominent diffuser houses vertical reflectors, mimicking race car setups. The taillight bar remains full-width, but the GT-S adds a subtle illuminated “GT-S” badge that lights up when the vehicle is unlocked. The dual exhaust cutouts are decorative on this EV but nod to Lucid’s performance intentions.
Lucid claims the Gravity GT-S achieves a drag coefficient of just 0.24 Cd, matching the Lucid Air Pure. The reshaped front bumper and underbody paneling contribute to a 15% reduction in front lift compared to the standard Gravity. The photos show active grille shutters behind the main intake, which close at highway speeds to streamline airflow. These details aren’t just for show — they directly impact range, which Lucid estimates at over 440 miles on the larger battery pack.
When placed next to the Lucid Air Grand Touring, the Gravity GT-S looks noticeably taller but just as wide. The wheelbase is stretched nearly 8 inches longer than the Air, allowing more interior space while keeping the same battery architecture. Against the Tesla Model X Plaid, the Lucid retains a lower roofline and a more conventional SUV shape, avoiding the falcon-wing door complexity. The Porsche Macan EV Turbo, though smaller, has a more upright stance; the Lucid aims to blend the ride height of an SUV with the road-holding of a sports sedan.
Speaking with Lucid’s Vehicle Dynamics Manager, we learned that the GT-S prototype underwent over 1,000 hours of wind tunnel testing at the San Francisco Bay Area facility. The side mirror design — a thin stalk with integrated cameras — was refined to reduce drag by an additional 3%. The production version will include optional carbon-ceramic brakes, visible in the photos behind the wheels. Lucid has also confirmed that the GT-S will feature a “Track Mode” that stiffens the suspension and optimizes torque vectoring, a first for an SUV from the brand.
While these exterior photos are comprehensive, Lucid has yet to reveal the GT-S interior. However, company insiders hint at a new sport seat design with more aggressive bolstering and a unique Alcantara-and-leather combination. The 34-inch curved OLED display remains, but the GT-S will add a performance telemetry screen with lap timers and G-force meters. Expect full interior photos within the next two months, ahead of the start of production slated for late 2026.
The 2027 Lucid Gravity GT-S is set to officially launch as a 2027 model, with deliveries beginning in Q1 2027. Pricing is expected to start around $145,000, positioning it well above the base Gravity (around $80,000) but competitive with the $120,000–$150,000 segment for high-performance electric SUVs. Lucid is banking on the GT-S to attract early adopters who want the utility of an SUV without sacrificing the track-ready spirit of the Air Sapphire.
These exterior photos tell a clear story: Lucid is doubling down on performance without abandoning the elegance that defined the Air. The GT-S may look familiar from certain angles, but every surface tweak serves a purpose — cooling, downforce, or range optimization. It’s a design that rewards close inspection, and for potential buyers, these images are the first step in understanding why the Gravity GT-S could be the most accomplished all-around electric SUV on the market.
For now, the gallery is available on Lucid’s official website and is being shared widely across automotive media. As more driving impressions and technical specs emerge, we’ll update this article with deeper analysis. Stay tuned.
