The 2025 Ford Mustang Mach-E receives a series of thoughtful updates focused on everyday comfort and technology, headlined by a standard heat pump for better efficiency, a new steering column-mounted gear shifter, and the debut of the more advanced BlueCruise 1.5 hands-free driving system.
Ford's electric SUV continues with the powertrain options introduced for the 2024 model year, offering a balance of performance and driving range that remains competitive. With pricing starting at $38,490, the 2025 model builds on the formula with added value on mid-tier trims and new personalization options.
The most noticeable change inside the 2025 Mach-E is the relocation of the gear selector from the center console to the steering column. This design, similar to many modern vehicles, frees up space on the center console for smaller items like a phone or purse. More significantly, a heat pump is now standard across all trims. A heat pump is a more efficient climate control system that uses ambient heat to warm the cabin, reducing the energy drain from the battery in cold weather and helping to preserve driving range.
For the mid-level Premium trim, ventilated front seats are now included as standard equipment, enhancing comfort in warm climates. Buyers can also opt for a new Sport Appearance Package on the Premium model. This package adds aggressive styling cues from the high-performance GT trim, including a specific front bumper, grille, black 19-inch wheels, lower-body trim, and distinctive red Brembo front-brake calipers. Inside, it features red accent stitching and sport pedals.
The 2025 model debuts the latest version of Ford’s hands-free highway driving aid, BlueCruise 1.5. This system builds upon the capabilities of BlueCruise 1.2, which required the driver to activate the turn signal to initiate a hands-free lane change. The new Automatic Lane Change feature allows the system to initiate a pass on its own. According to Ford, the Mach-E will change lanes if it detects a slower vehicle ahead or if another car is following too closely in the passing lane, a feature designed to improve traffic flow.
All 2025 Mach-E buyers will receive a 90-day free trial of BlueCruise. After the trial, the service costs $49.99 per month or $495 per year. Alternatively, buyers can purchase a lifetime subscription at the point of sale for a one-time fee of $2,495.
The 2025 Mustang Mach-E continues with the same powertrain lineup introduced for the 2024 model. It is available with either Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) or All-Wheel Drive (AWD).
The high-performance Mach-E GT and the off-road-inspired Mach-E Rally are exclusively offered with the extended-range battery and AWD. The GT generates 480 hp and 600 pounds-feet of torque, with an available Performance Upgrade boosting torque to 700 pounds-feet (this upgrade is standard on the Rally).
