Creating a meeting in Microsoft Teams is a straightforward process that can be done instantly or scheduled for later, directly from the Calendar tab on your desktop or mobile app. The platform is designed for efficiency, allowing you to add attendees, set a time, and even broadcast to a channel in just a few clicks or taps.
The Windows application offers the most features, including the ability to start an immediate 'Meet Now' session. To begin, open the Microsoft Teams application and navigate to the Calendar tab on the left-hand menu. Here, you have two primary options:
Once all details are entered, click 'Save'. This action will close the window and officially send the invitations to all participants through their Outlook email.
The Microsoft Teams mobile app for iOS and Android provides similar functionality but is optimized for on-the-go scheduling. You cannot start an instant 'Meet Now' meeting from the mobile calendar view; the focus is on scheduling in advance. Open the app and tap the 'Calendar' tab at the bottom of your screen. To create a new event, tap the '+' icon (which looks like a calendar with a plus sign) in the top corner.
You will then fill out the 'New Event' form. This includes the meeting title, participants, and the date and time. A key feature is the 'Share to a channel' option, which makes the meeting accessible to an entire team channel. After entering all details, tap the checkmark or 'Done' button in the upper right corner to finalize and send the invites.
