Where is the rearview mirror folding button on the Hongqi HS5?

The knob for adjusting the rearview mirrors on the Hongqi HS5 is located at the front of the door panel. It supports folding the exterior rearview mirrors—simply turn the knob to the appropriate angle. Method for adjusting the rearview mirrors: In the driver's compartment, use the adjustment buttons to make adjustments. When adjusting the left rearview mirror's up and down position, place the distant horizon in the center. For the left and right positions, adjust so that the car body occupies 1/4 of the mirror's surface. Location of the rearview mirror adjustment knob in other models: On the HS5, the rearview mirror adjustment knob is located at the front of the door panel. On the H5, the rearview mirror adjustment knob is positioned on the driver's door panel, specifically the button in front of the window regulator switch.
When I first drove the Hongqi HS5, I looked for this button. It's located on the driver's side door armrest, lined up with the window control buttons. That square button with the mirror icon is the one—just press it and both side mirrors will fold in. This feature is especially useful when passing through narrow roads or parking in multi-level garages to avoid scratches. Actually, you can also set the mirrors to fold automatically when locking the car in the vehicle system, so you don’t need to manually operate it every time you turn off the engine. Just remember to defrost before folding in winter—once I forced the button and nearly damaged the motor. If the button doesn’t respond, it might be due to a blown fuse or the system disabling the folding function.
The most convenient feature I use daily on the Hongqi HS5 is this folding button, which is ergonomically positioned in the door panel control area easily accessible with my left hand. Next to the silver knob, there's a dedicated folding button marked with an icon of two triangles folding together. Once during rain, I safely passed through a narrow width restrictor by pressing it in advance. Additionally, I discovered that holding the lock button for three seconds can also trigger the folding function, which is handy for remote operation. The turn signal wiring in the mirrors is interconnected with the folding motor, so caution is needed during modifications to avoid disturbing the wiring harness. It's advisable to regularly spray WD-40 on the pivot to prevent rust and ensure smooth folding.
