If a sedan understeers, simply release the throttle and lightly tap the brakes to bring the car back on the correct track. If the steering angle is too large, slightly turning the steering wheel back can eliminate the understeer. Below are the factors that influence understeer: 1. Tire grip or road conditions. The lower the tire grip, the more likely this issue occurs. This is also one of the reasons why accidents are more frequent in rainy or snowy conditions. 2. Corner entry angle and speed. The higher the corner entry speed and the smaller the entry angle, the greater the centripetal force and driving force, making tire side slip more likely. 3. Vehicle drive type. Changes in driving force can be affected, similar to how tire grip decreases in rainy or snowy weather. 4. Suspension geometry. Under normal use, there won't be significant changes unless the chassis has been involved in a major accident, in which case this factor should be considered. 5. Electronic stability control (ESC). To overcome this issue, many manufacturers equip vehicles with ESC at the factory. This system adjusts by controlling the driving force.
