Is Installing a Rear Wing Legal?

Installing a rear wing is illegal. Adding a rear wing to a car is considered illegal modification. Traffic police departments state that modifications such as altering tires and rims, adding rear wings, changing lights, or modifying exhaust pipes are all illegal modifications. These must be restored to their original condition in time to pass inspection. Vehicle owners who wish to change the body color, replace the engine, or change the body or frame should submit an application for modification registration to the vehicle management office within 10 days. There are mainly two methods for installing a car rear wing: adhesive mounting and bolt fixing. The former avoids damaging the trunk lid and prevents water leakage, while the latter is more secure but requires drilling holes, which can damage the appearance of the trunk lid and may cause water leakage if not installed properly. It is recommended that owners refrain from making arbitrary modifications and maintain the original technical requirements. Caution is advised when privately modifying rear wings, and exaggerated large rear wings should be chosen carefully.
