How to Turn on the High Beam on a CRV?

Carry the key close to the car (within two meters) to unlock the door. After entering the driver's seat, gently press the one-touch start button to power on the vehicle and initiate self-check. On the lower left side of the steering wheel, there is a turn signal lever. The outer part is the headlight and position light switch. Turn the knob to the bottom position to turn on the headlights. The headlights turned on at this time are low beams. In this state, push the lever downward to activate the high beams. After turning on the low beams, pull the light control lever backward to momentarily activate the high beams, also known as flashing the high beams or alternating between high and low beams.
As a new CR-V owner who just got the car, I found turning on the high beams quite straightforward. Generally on the left-side control stalk of the steering wheel, you first rotate the light knob to the automatic or low beam position. Then if you want to activate high beams, simply push the stalk forward once - a blue indicator on the instrument cluster will light up to confirm activation. When driving at night on highways or rural roads, these lights illuminate farther ahead, significantly improving visibility. However, you must never use them when there's oncoming traffic, as the glare could blind other drivers and cause accidents. Regular checks to ensure high beam functionality are also crucial - replace any burnt-out bulbs promptly.
Having driven many cars, the operation of the CR-V's high beams is quite intuitive. After starting the vehicle, hold the control lever on the lower left side of the steering wheel with your left hand and gently push it forward to turn on the high beams. A blue indicator light on the dashboard will illuminate as a reminder. Don’t forget that the CR-V has an automatic headlight function—if the auto mode is enabled, the system will automatically switch between high and low beams in dark environments. Safety first—use high beams only when necessary, such as on open roads, otherwise it can be impolite to other drivers and may even result in a fine. Regularly clean the headlights to prevent dust buildup from affecting brightness.
